Boston vs. Cleveland in Eastern Conference Finals Game Seven

 LEBRON James plays his 100th game of this NBA season in today’s critical game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals between Cleveland and Boston.

Whether the best player in the game has enough in the tank for a road victory against the Celtics remains to be seen, but the odds are against him.

Boston is undefeated at website home this postseason and the Cavs are without Kevin Love after he suffered a concussion in game six.

Cleveland drought at epic proportions

The Cavaliers continued to shoot themselves in the foot, missing their first five three-point attempts of the second quarter to sit at 2/17 for the game.

Five LeBron James turnovers didn’t help as the Celtics took a 35-23 lead midway through the second. Al Horford (14 points) and Jayson Tatum (11 points) continued to pace the home team.

But the Celtics weren’t much better from long-range (4/19) and an 8-2 Cavs run — which included a corner three from JR Smith — reduced the deficit to 39-37 late in the quarter.

A late Jaylen Brown triple made it 43-39 Boston at the half.

James had 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Horford’s weird flinching problem

Al Horford is a veteran of the NBA and doesn’t play scared — except when Cleveland misses a shot.

For at least the third time in this series Horford was captured flinching badly when Tristan Thompson missed a free throw early in game seven.

The Celtics gave Horford reason to relax somewhat by closing the first quarter with a 9-0 run to take a 26-18 lead.

Horford (eight points) and Jayson Tatum (nine points) led the way for the home team, while LeBron James scored 12 of Cleveland’s 18 points. The Cavs hit just 1/9 three-point attempts.
